I found with my variable speed pump that you have to run at high rpm to create the suction seal needed for it to work. Maybe silly of me, but I bought a 'Skim-A-Round' skimmer basket hoping to increase my flow into the filter. I took off the weir door as it didn't do much anyway and it helped a little on debris travel. I bought a skim around all in one which seemed like a great idea in theory.
